April Boy Regino Stages A Comeback in 'The Singing Bee' After Retirement from Music Career

Jukebox idol April Boy Regino already retired from his music career but his fans will get a special treat this Saturday (Jan 25) as he sings once again in “The Singing Bee,” along with fellow OPM singers Renz Verano, Jerome Abalos, Angelica Jones, and Selina Sevilla.

Who among the five contestants will emerge as the best in guessing the correct lyrics of songs and face the defending champion and ultimate multimedia star Toni Gonzaga? Will one of them again take home the P1 million jackpot price? Toni already won P20,000 after defeating her “Home Sweetie Home” love team John Lloyd Cruz in the Final Countdown round last week.

ASAP 18 24K Gold Awards and Platinum Circle Awards Winners

The ASAP 18 7th 24K Gold Awards and 9th Platinum Circle Awards happened Sunday, December 1 and the ABS-CBN musical variety show paid tribute to OPM as it handed out trophies to the elite circle of artists whose albums turned gold and platinum this year and those who have made big contribution to OPM.

This year, ASAP 18 honored Jukebox King April Boy Regino as the Elite Platinum Awardee while the 24K Golden Voice Award was given to the internationally-acclaimed Filipino theater icon Leo Valdez.

Robin Padilla Faces April Boy Regino in a Showdown in 'Toda Max' this July 21

Robin Padilla has proven that he can also be good in singing via his 2002 movie “Videoke King” and more than just a hot-pack action star. But this time, his singing prowess will again be tested as he faces April Boy Regino in a song-and-dance showdown on “TODA Max”.

Different from his robust and redoubtable image in ‘Beverly Gils’, Tol (Robin) will show his artistic side as he and his son Ron-ron (Izzy Canillo) join the school’s ‘Father and Son program’.

But Boogie (April Boy Regino) and his son (Bugoy Carino) will do whatever it takes to defeat their arch-nemesis in this competition – Tol and Ron-ron. With this, Ron-ron will do everything to outrank his competitors but he will accidentally find out that his father really didn’t want to join the competition.
