ABS-CBN 'Anna Liza' Remake Topbilled by Andrea Brillantes

ABS-CBN remakes the 80’s classic soap opera Annaliza that catapulted the late actress Julie Vega into stardom. On its return to television, the role of Annaliza is played by promising child star Andrea Brillantes (formerly Blythe Brillantes) who first appeared in kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit.

Her acting prowess was gradually noticed when she landed roles on hit primetime teleseryes such as Budoy and PHR Paraiso where she played the young Jessy Mendiola, Kahit Puso’y Masugatan as the young Andi Eigenmann, and Ina, Kapatid, Anak as the young Kim Chiu. Now, Andrea is ready to take on her biggest break on television as she is launched as one of the newest teleserye princesses of the Kapamilya network.

Annaliza is an endearing and heartwarming family drama that centers on the enduring love and fighting spirit of a child despite all the struggles and miseries in her life. She will go through challenges that seem to be insurmountable, especially for a child like her, but with the guidance of her adoptive father, Anna Liza will conquer it all with her innocence, innate goodness and ability to love unconditionally.

Joining Andrea in Annaliza is an ensemble of character actors such as Zanjoe Marudo, Kaye Abad, Denise Laurel, Patrick Garcia, and Carlo Aquino as well as teen sensations Khalil Ramos, Sue Ramirez and Kiko Estrada.

Jane Oineza Has Cerebral Palsy in MMK this January 12

After her controversial and top-rating “Maalaala Mo Kaya” ‘Manika’ episode last 2012 that tackled about a young girl raped in front of her mother, Kapamilya teen star Jane Oineza returns to “MMK” this Saturday (January 12) to once again touch the hearts and empower TV viewers through her role as April, a teenager who was born with cerebral palsy.


Despite her condition, April was able to live a somewhat normal life with the strong support from her family, especially from her younger brother Dhayveed (Kyle Balili). The siblings’ love for each other remained steadfast especially when they started schooling, but not until they reached high school. Because of April’s condition, Dhayveed’s classmates’ perception towards him has also been affected to the point that he was being ridiculed which consequently affected his relationship with April. Without anyone to take care of her, how long can April survive in a ‘world’ filled with ruthless people?

In her newest “MMK” episode, Jane will team up once again with writer Benson Logronio and director Nuel Crisostomo Naval, the same duo who created the much talked about ‘Manika’ episode. This Saturday’s episode was researched by Agatha Lee Ruadap.



Aside from Jane and Kyle, the upcoming “MMK” episode will feature Blythe Brillantes, Joshen Bernardo, Bing Davao and Susan Africa.

Before 2012 draws to a close, ABS-CBN’s top-rating drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” will treat TV viewers with a heartwarming dramatic episode this Saturday (December 29) topbilled by award-winning actress Shaina Magdayao ang promising Kapamilya actor Bryan Santos. 

“MMK” will share the touching story of undying love of Enez (Shaina) and Marvin (Bryan) who conquered almost everything to keep their marriage intact and love for each other alive.

Instead of having their dream church wedding, Enez and Marvin just had a civil wedding because Enez became pregnant at a time when they were still financially unstable. The two started building dreams as a family but in the process, Enez’s strength and character were put to test when Marvin suffered paralysis on different parts of his body and later on got comatose. Despite the misfortunes, Enez never left her husband. 

Together with Shaina and Bryan in “MMK” this Saturday are Arlene Muhlach, Yayo Aguila, Emilio Garcia, Blythe Brillantes, Simon Ibarra, Shy Carlos, Jojit Lorenzo and Paco Evangelista. It was researched by Akeem Jordan del Rosario, written by Jaymar Castro and Arah Jell Badayos, and directed by Nuel Crisostomo Naval.
